Important Security Requirements When Paying via Stripe

To protect both customers and merchants from credit card fraud, Stripe applies international security standards. During checkout, you may be asked to provide additional information or complete extra verification steps.

1. AVS (Address Verification System)

AVS checks whether the billing address you enter matches the address registered with your card-issuing bank. Stripe may verify:

• Street address
• ZIP / Postal code

👉 AVS helps prevent unauthorized card use.

2. CVC / CVV – Card Security Code

CVC (Card Verification Code) is the security code printed on your card. This code is never stored and is used only to confirm that you have the physical card.

3. 3D Secure (3DS)

3D Secure is an extra authentication step required by your bank. You may be asked to enter a one-time password (OTP), approve via banking app, or use Face ID.
